Happy Friday!!! Oh how I do love Fridays! I hope everyone has a great day and weekend!
I thought I would let you know how I am doing since I’ve made some changes in my eating and such. (I have no idea how many people actually read this silly blog, but I generally get a few likes on Facebook, and that makes me smile!)
I have changed completely to Premier protein shakes (I get 12 for just under $19 at Sam’s Club). It has taken some getting used to. They are a lot sweeter (which is hilarious since the GNC ones were the ones with all the added sugar!) and the consistency is different. But I have 2-3 a day, depending on my schedule. They are my breakfast and mid-afternoon snack. I have been having a lunch of salad-type foods. I really can’t eat that much, so I get a salad and pick at it for a few days at lunchtime. When I work out, I have a third protein shake after to help my muscles recover. (See, I am learning and paying attention!)
After being on these changes, I have finally seen the scale move! I was 185 last Monday morning. This morning I was 179.4! I feel really good. When I get the snack attacks, I eat almonds. I allow myself some pretzels too, if I need a ‘crunch fix.’ I miss those stupid Cheetos, but not terribly.
I guess I should have clarified why I was eating Cheetos… I mean, they are certainly not healthy. I ate them because they stayed down! Crunchy stuff is more easily digested by my post-op stomach than fiberous. Meats, veggies and such are still really hard to handle and generally don’t stay down. So I had gotten in the habit of eating them because I could. Oh well.
This is great progress, I think. I emailed the EP and she was thrilled. She says she thinks I will be in the 160s by the time I see her next. I don’t feel that confident, but her confidence boosts me every time!!!
Oh, and I am not having much luck with doing P90X plus cardio. There is just not enough time in the day! Most of the P90X work outs are an hour, and some are 90 minutes. But I am going to keep trying. I can fit them in on the weekends, at least. I think in the summer, when I can walk outside, it might be easier too.
So that’s what is new here. I would love for you to comment here or on Facebook. And to get you in the spirit…some music!

I do read your blogs and I am happy for the success you have had! And thanks for “Happy.” It always works for me!
Thanks, Lori!!!
You are doing a great job! I’m happy to hear all of this. I know that scale number was bugging you even though you were telling yourself not to worry about it. I can’t wait until we can walk outside again…there is something that is so much easier about that!
Yes there is! Even winter-loving me misses that!!! Thank you for you constant support!!!
