Interesting development….

So, if you read my last post, you know that I just saw both my surgeon and the exercise physiologist (EP) a few days ago.

Today, out of the blue, I got a phone call. It was the EP. She wanted to let me know that she had discussed my case with the surgeon and felt very confident that I was going to lose weight. She said they had a ‘friendly wager’ about it! She said she has that much confidence in me and what I’ve been doing!

WannaBet

I gotta say, that is a major boost to my ego. I am not used to having someone else who has that much confidence in me. I mean, I have lots of friends and supporters, but still…

Anyway, I just think it is awesome. So while I had her on the phone, I asked her what else I could do to boost my progress. We discussed what type of protein shakes I drink. She suggested a change to a different kind, as the one I use has ‘added sugar.’ I was not aware of this… so as soon as I hung up, I looked at the ingredients. SHE IS RIGHT! Jeez!!!

So I will be going to get better protein shakes. Also (I did not inform her of this) I gave up Cheetos for Lent. They have become a daily snack for me. I should not be snacking on anything, let alone processed carb-laden junk!

stop cheetos

Back to the phone call, she also recommended that I up or at least maintain a fair amount of cardio. I have not been doing that, either. So I will make sure that is a priority.

I feel very well supported. I feel excited at what the future holds. And I feel empowered to make it happen!

Happy Friday, everyone! Let’s get out there and show it is true… what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger!

I can’t digest celery. Not that I need to defend my choices, but there are a lot of foods that make me throw up still. Cheetos don’t so they were a go to snack!
