I am referring to this semester of grad school, of course. I have two more classes to attend, with two take-home finals to complete. That’s it. Then I get to be off for the summer. I probably won’t know quite what to do with myself or all my new ‘free time.’ I have great plans and aspirations for that time, though.
First and foremost, I have knitting to do, people! My dear cousin, Kerry, sent me some projects that her mom (my Aunt Elaine) had started before she died. I have managed to complete two, but one is still hanging around and taunting me. It’s a big one–a massive blanket–but I really am eager to get my hands back on it. So that will be priority one once my classwork is complete.

And after I finish that, I have Mia’s graduation gift–another knitted blanket–to complete. I feel like I have a little more time on that one… she won’t actually need it until she heads to school in the fall. But it is still priority two.

Along with the knitting, I really need to give my house some love and attention. Because I basically have been on auto-pilot since last August, there are a lot of piles right now. There are books, clothes, bags, boxes, mail and other sorts of piles of stuff all over the place. While I have always been a pile-r, I need to reign it in for the sake of the other people who live here. And so that I can have people over some time. The clutter must go–although knitting is first, remember?
In case you are wondering why I am blogging instead of writing the previously mentioned take-home finals, I want you to know that I am halfway through one of them. I had to take a break, so here I am. I am on page 5 of what should be about 10 pages. I have the rest of the paper outlined, but I have run out of steam to complete it. As soon as I finish this blog, I am heading up to bed.
By the way, today was Easter. I hope you all had a lovely, joy-filled day. Or maybe you had a quiet and restful day. Whatever your choice was, I hope it was honored. We had a lovely dinner with my parents and I also managed to do laundry and dye my hair. It is now green. The box says it is Emerald Green, but to me it looks more like teal. We shall see how it looks by the light of day tomorrow.
So there you go, dear friends. Hang on through the homes stretch with me. More adventures certainly await, but I’m sincerely hoping for some knitting time first!
Happy Easter! 🐣💕💐🌷🌸🐰
