Yesterday, while attempting to do some dishes, I managed to slice open my right hand. The top of a glass had a chip in it and I didn’t notice until I cut right through the webbed part of my hand between my thumb and forefinger. OUCH!
I put pressure on it, cleaned it out and put a bandage on it. That didn’t help. So I picked up some stuff that is supposed to seal cuts… that didn’t work either. The cut is right where it keeps pulling open. Mikey took one look at it and said I needed stitches. So off we went to the ER. It was the fastest visit I have ever paid to the ER… and two stitches and a tetanus shot later I was all done.
Today I have been darn miserable. In addition to having a terrible time trying to get dressed (I never realized how important my right hand is to this particular task), my arm has been extremely sore. By mid-morning, I also had full body aches and my brain felt like it was in a fog. So off to Google I went… and sure enough, the side effects of a tetanus shot explained my misery!
By the time I got home, I was also dealing with a low grade fever, nausea, and lightheadedness. #goodtimes

Thankfully Louisa has been extremely attentive and helpful. She pretty much took over once we got home. I had homework to do, but Lord only knows the quality of the work I am currently doing. UGH
So today was hard. It didn’t have anything to do with being back from vacation. I am actually excited to be back in time for the impending snow! And I missed my family and puppies… I will just be glad when these side effects leave me alone. The websites all said about the same thing… 2-4 days of this before they go away. So the next few days should be interesting!
I hope everyone else is having a great Monday. Have you ever had side effects like these? I am grateful that the vaccine exists, cause Lock Jaw is deadly. But I will also be grateful when the side effects are over!
