So, it has been 178 days since my gastric bypass. That is not quite six months. I have lost 73 pounds. I have gone down from size 22/24 to 12/14. I have tons more energy and can walk up and down stairs without huffing and puffing. Since October, however, I have been plateaued. It seems to be one very stubborn plateau. So, as they say, drastic times call for drastic measures.
Thanks to a very generous coworker, I have borrowed the p90x dvds and last night, I did the very first work out. It was all about arms and chest. Wanna guess what hurts on me today?
I never thought I would brave this program. I have known a lot of people who have done it, but they were people whom (in my eyes) were already fit or at least thin. Here I am, still overweight with lots of padding, trying to do 7 different types of push-ups. (While I managed a dozen or so plain push-ups, by the time we got to the decline push-ups and some insane ones where I was supposed to let my body dip down and come back up, I was basically lying on the floor in a pool of my own sweat.) It was not pretty at all.
The good news is, I did it. I made it through. I am sure my form was rough, but I did it! I’m actually looking forward to whatever might be on the plan for today!
So what are your plans to make yourself a bit better today? Are you walking? Have you finally stopped that horrible habit that is slowly killing you? This blog is not just about me! I want to hear your story too!!
Oh, and happy Friday! It is, and probably always will be, my very favorite day of the week! How about some music to get us all moving???
