Hello and Happy New Year!
I went to a meeting last night for one of my girls’ activities and ran in to a friend I had not seen in a while. She commented that she had not seen a recent picture of me on Facebook. It occurred to me that a few of you might be thinking the same thing, so I am going to explain to you why (as I explained to her last night).
I have plateau’d. I have not lost any weight since late October. I still feel great, and I have gone down another size, but the scale has not budged. As a result, I have not felt prompted to post any pictures! I still look like the last one I posted. If you missed it, I’ll share them again…
To recap, I have now lost 76 lbs since my journey began (57.4lbs since my surgery). I have gone from a size 22/24 to a size 12/14. Even my shoe size is a bit smaller. I’ve gone from a 9 1/2 wide to either a 9 or an 8 1/2 wide.
I can eat pretty much anything, although I still find myself with food ‘stuck’ to the point of throwing up about once a week. It is not upsetting for me, but it generally upsets others, so I try to be stealth-like. Most days I have two protein shakes (breakfast and lunch) to get my required 60g of protein, and then eat whatever I feel like the rest of the day. I snack on a lot of nuts.
I am still exercising primarily through walking. I know that it might sound horribly boring, but I like it and it works. With the bitter cold weather, I have taken to mall walking when I can find the time. I also throw in the walk at home dvds when I’m able. If I don’t find time to walk, I don’t beat myself up over it. It’s a marathon, not a mile and I know it will work out as long as I keep making good choices!
I would love to hear from you now. Share an update here or on facebook. Let me know how you are doing in your journey. What are your hopes for 2015? Or are you just taking things a day at a time? Because, no one else may tell you this, it’s okay to do that.

Hey Kath, Want to hear a funny joke? OK 😉 A guy on the radio said he was a bank manager and wears a suit to work everyday. Then he goes, ‘I am not sure it tricks anyone to think that my bank is not in a grocery store, but they tell me to wear a suit anyway’. Sometimes, the truth hurts, but the truth can be funny as well. We all define ourselves in a few ways, but sometimes one way may dominate how we see ourselves. Ultimately, we are nonetheless whatever we chose to see, or be — yet even if we can see ourselves in size 9 shoe however it still does not make it fit as easy. So, I guess seeing is believing but beliving is not always seeing. Anyway, back to the blog, from the outside looking in you look great = through and through. FYI, truth, the last time I looked at a scale was the last time I weighed-in for a wrestling match. After so many years I realize that the battle was not the number – it was something more inside myself. Wow I thought, darn insight, and then I realized the number was the least complicated factors in my life. BTW, look at my son’s match on FB (please). He is an (IQ) number to so many, and I see him as everything other than a number. You will be well in your journey, everything takes time. God Bless, and Happy New Year. Remember, everything always looks up – unless you get burried unside-down. Cheers, Dom
