Self-Improvement Ahead

Today I went to church with Louisa and Mia. The sermon involved this command from God:

love-your-neighbor

The message hit home. I have been kind, yes. I have been a ‘nice’ person, mostly. I have tried (quite unsuccessfully) to be a good person. I have. I want to be a good mom, wife, sister, daughter, friend… but that’s all irrelevant if I’m not living the way God wants me to.

Time to take a hard look at myself and realize I am falling very short because I am letting my wants lead me.

It’s not about me. It’s about my neighbor.

It is time for me to refocus and live as I should. I commit to loving my neighbor–that includes those I may not like–as Christ has told me to. Do I love myself? I do. I am a child of God and I love what He has done for me.

I am selfish if I keep that to myself. So here I go…

I am inspired to be the person I have been created to be. I know I will fall, but I will not stop trying.

Happy, blessed Sunday dear neighbors. I really do love you.
