No More Clear Liquids, Please!

I am extremely optimistic that today will be my very last day of this clear liquid diet. When I see Dr. P tomorrow, I believe she will allow me to move on to the next phase, which is pureed food. I am already preparing for this by having soup and protein shakes in the house.

It has been a very strange journey, living on such a minimal amount of calories. Truly, would anyone ever think that 100 calories a day is enough? (are enough?) I suppose it is because my body is still healing and because I am staying very well hydrated that I don’t feel too miserable.

I do miss protein quiet a bit. Clear protein is pretty hard to find, so I am simply going without. I have always been someone who needs protein first, though. It has been a struggle. I know my low energy level is most likely do to this diet. I am ready to get back to actually eating.

Now, all of this being said, I am not complaining. I chose to go through this and I am eager for the results. I am simply stating observations from my past week.

I am also feeling a lot better. My little incisions are a bit sore, but otherwise I feel good. I got a new fitness-related toy in the mail yesterday! It’s a Fitbit! I have wanted one forever and Mikey said he would get it for my birthday. Well, my birthday is not until September. I found one on sale on Amazon, so I ordered it!  He will have to find something else for my birthday!

In case you have never heard of a Fitbit, it is a small device that you wear to track steps taken. It also converts those steps into miles walked and calories burned. Mine (a Fitbit One) also tracks how many flights of stairs I take and how well I sleep.

It is pretty cool. It syncs with an app on my iphone as well as a little do-hickey thing on my laptop. So I don’t have to enter any info. So convenient!

I did some walking today with the girls, as they had doctor appointments. But I still need to go for an actual walk. It looks like it is about to rain, but I may just risk it and see if I can get a walk in. I still don’t last very long.  My hope is that adding protein back to my diet tomorrow will help me to build that back up!

Have you walked today?
