Day 7, Post-Op

day 7

As achingly slow as this week has felt at times, I now am amazed that it has already been seven days since my surgery.

My abdominal pain is quite bearable. I have not taken any pain meds since Friday night. I am still taking some simethicone for the gas pain, but it is tolerable. I am tender, more than anything. I can stand up (nearly) straight. Getting up and down from chairs is not such a chore.

My diet is still clear liquids. I am honestly getting quite tired of chicken broth, jello, popsicles and water (flavored with flavor drops). This too shall pass, however, so I am counting my blessings that there are flavor varieties of these!

I need a bank of these in my kitchen!

I need a bank of these in my kitchen!

Two major accompishments so far today are: 1) I slept through the night in my bed and 2) I was able to shave my legs!!! I am having a breakfast of hot lemonade (thank you Keurig) and grape flavored water. While I truly have no appetite, good smelling foods still make me want to eat. I guess those triggers that nature built in are quite strong! Soph’s breakfast sausage with syrup smells sooooo good!

I still cannot drive, but I am back to work today. I have been on the phone and managing emails all morning. The fact that I get to be in pjs to do it is a lovely perk! I will be glad to be back to ‘normal’ soon, though. I don’t make a very patient patient!

Oh, and in case you were wondering… here is how I am doing! I started this journey in December at 246 lbs. Today I weighed 224! Wooty woot woot!
