You think it matters

We all can get caught up in life.

Betrayal.

Hurt feelings.

Then your child texts you and says, “I need to call you, badly.”

That is not our usual convo.

“Mom! I flipped my car!”

“I hit the pole.”

She just kept saying those things over and over.

I was too far away to wrap my arms around her.

That’s all I wanted to do.

My baby girl was hurt. She had an accident.

The rest of the world no longer matters.
